fall protection

AGL Port Augusta Highway

We completed an extensive scaffolding project for AGL, demonstrating both our technical expertise and commitment to safety in a complex and high-stakes environment. The project involved constructing a robust 21-meter-long, 7.2-meter-wide, and 15-meter-high scaffolding structure to support power lines as they crossed over active roads and rail tracks. This required meticulous planning and skilled execution to ensure stability and secure protection for both workers and the public throughout the project.

Safety was the top priority from start to finish, with our experienced team adhering to rigorous safety protocols. The elevated structure had to withstand substantial loads and resist external forces such as wind and vibration from nearby traffic. Every component was carefully inspected, and our team conducted ongoing risk assessments to address potential challenges proactively.

The result was a seamless project delivered to the highest safety and quality standards, reinforcing Whyalla Scaffolding’s reputation as a trusted provider of complex, large-scale scaffolding solutions.

The BIG Galah in Kimba
We were engaged to support repairs on one of Australia’s iconic roadside attractions, the Big Galah in Kimba. Standing over eight meters tall, this beloved giant bird required careful scaffolding to allow safe and effective access for repairs and maintenance. Our team designed and installed a scaffold structure tailored to the unique contours and height of the Big Galah, ensuring that workers could easily reach every part of the sculpture while preserving the surrounding area for visitors.

Safety and expertise were paramount in this project, given the Galah’s stature and its role as a local landmark. We employed our experience with unconventional and large-scale installations to deliver a secure platform that accommodated the sculpture’s specific requirements. This project not only highlighted Whyalla Scaffolding’s adaptability and commitment to high standards but also contributed to the preservation of a piece of Australia’s cultural heritage..

Domestic Housing
Whyalla Scaffolding has a strong track record in providing reliable and safe roof edge protection scaffolding for domestic housing projects. Our team has installed tailored scaffolding solutions on a variety of residential properties, from single-story homes to multi-level houses, to facilitate secure access for roofing work, painting, and general maintenance. These installations provide critical fall protection for workers, ensuring that every aspect of the job can be done with confidence and minimizing risks for everyone on-site.

Our focus on safety and quality is evident in each domestic job we undertake. Every scaffold is constructed to meet the highest industry standards and is carefully inspected to ensure durability and stability, regardless of weather conditions or project length.

Whyalla Scaffolding’s experience in residential settings means we work efficiently within tight spaces and are mindful of minimizing disruption to homeowners. Our roof edge protection solutions are designed to blend safety with convenience, offering peace of mind to builders and homeowners alike throughout the duration of their projects.

Apartment Complex
We completed a major scaffolding installation for an apartment complex, enabling essential repairs to be conducted safely and efficiently. The structure, which measured 28 meters in length and 12 meters in height, was specifically designed to provide secure access to multiple levels of the building. This scale and complexity required precision in both planning and assembly to ensure that all areas in need of repair could be reached without compromising safety or accessibility for residents.

Our team brought extensive expertise and a keen focus on safety to this project, managing every aspect from design to installation. By selecting high-quality materials and employing a modular approach, we provided a stable, adaptable structure that accommodated the ongoing work while minimising disruption.

This project reflects Whyalla Scaffolding’s commitment to delivering reliable access solutions tailored to the needs of each site, underscoring our reputation for professionalism and quality in residential scaffolding services.

Edward John Eyre High School
We were called upon to install a static line system at Edward John Eyre High School, providing essential fall protection for roof work. This safety-focused solution allowed workers to move securely along the roofline while completing maintenance and repairs on the school’s extensive roof area. With the static line in place, workers had continuous, hands-free protection, minimising risks associated with high-altitude tasks and ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards required for educational facilities.

Our team meticulously planned and installed the system, taking into account the unique layout of the school’s roofing structure and the specific demands of the project. By installing a robust and reliable static line, we ensured that all maintenance activities could be conducted safely and efficiently without compromising the school’s daily operations.

This project reflects Whyalla Scaffolding’s expertise in complex safety installations and highlights our commitment to providing tailored, high-quality fall protection solutions for community-oriented sites like Edward John Eyre High School.

Charity Work
Whyalla Scaffolding is proud to support local charities and community events, contributing our resources and expertise to enrich and uplift the Whyalla community. One such initiative is our annual support of the Whyalla Community Brass Band during the Whyalla Christmas Pageant.

Each year, we provide one of our flatbed trucks as a festive float, allowing the band to set up and perform as they move through the parade. This unique mobile stage gives the community a chance to experience the band’s holiday music up close, spreading cheer and joy to everyone attending the celebration. We’re honored to play a role in making this event memorable and meaningful for both performers and spectators.

In addition to the Christmas Pageant, Whyalla Scaffolding is dedicated to supporting the RSL Dawn Service, an event of deep significance to the Whyalla community. We supply and install the podium used during the service, ensuring a safe and stable platform for speakers and participants to honor those who served. This contribution reflects our commitment to community values and respect for tradition.

By providing these resources for such events, we aim to give back to Whyalla in a way that reflects our gratitude and support for the local organizations and residents who make this community special.

dustless
blasting

Battery Electric Veranda Roof

At Whyalla Battery Electric, the roof had extensive areas where the paint was flaking and peeling, which not only affected the appearance but also left the underlying metal vulnerable to damage.

Our team addressed this issue by carefully lowering the blast pressure to ensure that the flaking paint was effectively removed without causing any harm to the metal surface beneath. Once the surface was properly prepared, we applied a high-quality metal shield primer that offers superior protection against the elements, ensuring the roof remains durable and well-protected for years to come.

The result is a roof that looks as good as new and is equipped to withstand the harshest conditions.

Imagine Yacht
The owner needed to remove sea build up from the keel and look for damages or repairs that would be required for the hull.

We were able to wind back the pressure of the blaster to remove the build up and remove the paint so that the necessary repairs could be found and completed and a new coatings and paint could be applied to the hull before putting back into the water and back to its mooring in the marina.

Shiploader Accommodation Block

This client had significant rust spots on the accommodation block, which were compromising the integrity and appearance of the structure. Our team expertly handled the issue by thoroughly blasting the affected areas back to bare metal, ensuring that every trace of rust was completely removed.

Following the blasting process, the surface was carefully primed and repainted, restoring the accommodation block to its original condition and providing long-lasting protection against future corrosion.

The result is a durable, refreshed surface that enhances both the safety and aesthetic appeal of the structure.

Truck Bed Restoration
This client needed to address surface rust spots that had developed at the cabin end of their truck bed. The rust not only affected the truck’s appearance but also posed a risk of further corrosion if left untreated.

Our team stepped in to expertly blast the entire bed back to bare metal, ensuring all traces of rust were completely eliminated. Once the surface was properly prepared, it was ready for a fresh coat of paint and a durable protective coating, giving the truck bed a brand-new look and enhanced resilience against future wear and tear.

The result is a fully restored truck bed that’s not only aesthetically pleasing but also built to last.

Playground Equipment - Seesaw Refurbishment
We were tasked with refurbishing a well-used piece of playground equipment—a seesaw that had seen better days. The old paint was peeling and worn, making the seesaw not only look outdated but also potentially less safe for the children using it.

Our team carefully blasted the metal surface to remove all layers of old paint and any signs of rust or corrosion. By stripping the seesaw back to bare metal, we ensured that the surface was perfectly prepped for a fresh coat of vibrant, durable paint.

The result is a revitalized seesaw that not only looks brand new but is also safe and ready for many more years of fun and play.
